Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Deep Thought of the Day

Even though the library is still proudly about books, we grow annoyed that no one gives us credit for having more than books--we have all kinds of other media, our reference collection has virtually been replaced by the Internet, and it seems like there's a downloadable version of every format we carry. Yet we have no right to complain about the stereotype until we purge ourselves of some of our archaic terminology. I think it's time we stopped calling our shelvers "Pages" and changed the their title to something like "Discs" or "Bytes."
