Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Can't Figure It Out? Go Outside

I once wrote: A long, steady endurance workout is a great way to unwind. It becomes almost meditative. In fact, my favorite alone-time, when I do my best thinking, is during a good run (it's also good for pre-writing blog posts). Turns out I wasn't just imagining that. According to a new study, exercise unlocks creativity:
Fitness buffs of all professions have long known that the best way to unlock creativity is to go for a bike ride, run or swim.

Now science is proving that eureka moments during exercise are more than anecdote.

Stephen Ramocki, a marketing professor at Rhode Island College, found that a single aerobic workout is enough to kick the brains of college students into higher gear — and that the benefit lasts at least a couple of hours. To function optimally, each person’s brain needs a physically fit body, Ramocki says. . . .

During the 12-hour CSI marathon today, I finished up all the laundry, dishes, cleaned my closet, cooked two meals (and cookies), and vacuumed the house. It didn't make my headache any better, but I did gain contentment from a clean house.
