I hear a lot of people saying Gunther Cunningham needs to be fired. A while back he was thought of as a defensive guru. He coached for the Chiefs under Marty Schottenheimer with a smash-mouth philosophy, and was successful even with Carl Peterson as GM. Now he coaches for the Chiefs under Herm Edwards with a smash-mouth philosophy, and even has Carl Peterson as GM. So, tell me, is it really Gunther? Even coaching under offensive-genius-who-cares-about-defense Dick Vermiel he never gave up 54. Franchise record. A couple of weeks ago they set the record for allowing the biggest comeback in franchise history (so don't say it was just Thigpen's turnovers today; they're ranked last in the league in total defense).
