Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Crazy but True

I may actually be in agreement with Bill O'Reilly about something. This morning Good Morning America spent a good 10 minutes covering a woman in Germany who jumped into a Polar Bear exhibit. The bears were busy with feeding time and she thought their swimming water looked nice, so she climbed a fence, clawed through some bushes, and took the 10+ foot plunge into the polar moat. Needless to say she got mauled before they could haul her out. So, of course, GMA interviewed all kinds of experts trying to blame zoos for not having high enough fences and the like. Tonight at the gym I saw O'Reilly's take. He spent all of 30 seconds on the story, just long enough to call the woman a pinhead and a loon.

Interesting followup, apparently the woman had recently lost her job and was apparently distraught...and promptly realized that being mauled by bears isn't a painless exit. Also, German police are fining the woman for trespassing...good for them, bears are being bears, morons are being morons, it should not be societies burden to protect idiots from themselves.

However, she probably would have been unhealthy for the bears, humans have to be just horrible for your cholesterol.
