Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Some Things I Believe

  • You are racist (sexist, classist, etc.)
  • You generally have good intentions
  • You sometimes give in to less good intentions
  • You are part of social networks much larger and more complex than yourself
  • You influence your social networks, regardless of intent
  • You are influenced by your social networks, regardless of intent
  • Sometimes, in the web of networks, intentions don't factor
  • Sometimes, multiple good intentions can still add up to a negative
  • Sometimes, multiple good intentions can be in conflict with each other
  • Always, you need to do a better job of listening and understanding
