Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

I Got Nothing

There hasn't been anything inspiring me to post for a few days now, but I feel I owe you loyal leaders some kind of new content. So I'm just gonna mention a hodgepodge of random things.

Saw The Prestige on Friday night. Enjoyed it quite a bit. It was especially interesting to see a few months after The Illusionist. Very different stories, but similar settings. Each good in their own way and worth seeing.

Saw Thank You For Smoking on Saturday night. Most excellent. Kind of depressing, too, the truths it contains, but really good.

Finished reading The Jungle, but haven't posted my final thoughts on that blog yet.

There's a copy of Lemony Snicket's final book in The Series of Unfortunate Events--The End--waiting for me on the holds shelf, but first I need to finish reading Thor's Wedding by Bruce Coville.

The workouts are getting more regular and better quality. Yesterday was especially nice since I had most of the day off and was able to get out during the full daylight (time off for working all weekend). The "check engine" light had come on in the truck and we took it to Shawnee Mission Ford for a minor repair. Yesterday afternoon I biked out there to pick it up. A friend who lives near 99th and Antioch had loaned us his truck and my wife was driving it, so I drove ours to his house so she could swap vehicles after work. Then I biked back home. It was a bit cold, but lots of nice sun. This was after swimming in the morning.

We're thinking about putting our house on the market if anyone who knows it is interested. We've long thought about upgrading to a better location, just have never pulled the trigger. A realtor is coming over tonight, though. The thought of the additional debt pressure is worrisome.

How about them Chiefs?

your house is the best investment you can make. it'll only benefit you to upgrade as long as it doesn't squeeze you too much.
