""In any case, fire burns; that's its nature, and you can't expect to change that. You can use it to cook your meat or to burn down your neighbor's house. And is the fire you use for cooking any different from the one you use for burning? And does that mean you should eat your supper raw?"
Maddy shook her head, still puzzled. "So what you're saying is . . . I shouldn't play with fire," she said at last.
"Of course you should," said One-Eye gently. "But don't be surprised if the fire plays back.""— Joanne Harris

One of our two filipino boarders is really into sports, but at home they only get the NBA and not college. She knows North Carolina because that's where Michael Jordan went, but that's about it. She was amazed seeing all the KU spirit among the teachers she works with and has tried to get into this spectacle, but her lack of knowledge has hampered her. At one point the TV had a graphic up with names of a number of the top schools. She asked me what state Ooklah was from. Ooklah? I had to look at the graphic for a few seconds before I realized she meant UCLA.
And being a homer on your bracket doesn't hurt when your team wins. I did better than 95% of the entries at ESPN (although I was nowhere near the leaders; something like 150,000 out of a few million).
