Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Weather ≠ Climate

Some people have apparently decided that because it snows there can be no such thing as global warming or climate change. More rational links follow.

First, from the Colbert Report:

Folks, that is simple observational research. Whatever just happened is the only thing that is happening. Ask any peek-a-boo-ologist. . . . It is dark outside. Now based on this latest data, we can only assume that the sun has been destroyed. The world has been plunged into total darkness. Soon all our crops will die and the mole people will emerge from the center of the earth to enslave us in forevernight.

And on The Daily Show: Starting at 4:45, we find proof of global darkening and expose the dingoes that will take all the babies. I love the graph of data.

And for more serious, less satiric analogies to make the point, Rachel Maddow. It might rain in the desert, but it's still a desert.
