Weekend Update
I still don't have the motivation for life that I normally do, but I feel less and less negative all the time. Now that I'm handling things at work better, I even wonder what the big deal was and why I got so worked up; I'm still glad I'm eventually returning to a "non-boss" position--and that probably has a lot to do with my improved mood--but now I can hardly see why I cracked under the pressure.
We're waiting to hear back from the realtor. Friday she called to say we had a verbal agreement and the seller was going to sign the contract sometime today. We also found someone to buy our current house, so everything seems to be falling into place. I even have a week of vacation planned for the end of July. Moving won't be a real vacation, but having a week off to deal with the hassle will be better than trying to move while working. Having something exciting like this happening has also been a lot of help with my mental state. It's given me something to focus on outside of work and is giving me motivation to get things done.
The perfect weather Saturday made for an excellent start to a good weekend. We slept in, then headed to the City Market. We did a bit of shopping and had a delicious Vietnamese brunch. Went home and napped for a bit, then checked out ReStore, which sells reusable home parts, and the Sears outlet store. After that we headed north to Smithville Lake. We didn't really get enough cycling in to make it worth the drive, but we checked out the lake's trail system and enjoyed a beautiful afternoon. In the evening I mowed the lawn and trimmed a tree, then took the dogs running on the horse and mountain bike trails at Shawnee Mission Park. Sunday we had brunch at reVerse on the Plaza with friends from her school followed by errands and shopping. Then I repainted our coffee and end tables in anticipation of the new house. We relaxed in the evening and now it's back to the grind. Much better than the moping I've tended toward the last month.

Smithville is waaaay up there. And I say that from the perspective of someone that used to live near the airport.
