Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Look for Big Action Tomorrow

Today was the tour's first foray into real mountains and saw the first change in the yellow jersey. Fabian Cancellara, the world time trial champion, won the time trial prologue and stayed in the race lead for the entire first week of sprinter-friendly flat stages. Until today, when a breakaway finally survived and Linus Gerdemann took over by winning the stage. The main group stayed relatively close, with the favorites presumably saving themselves for tomorrow's much more difficult climbs. It's impossible to predict anything for sure, but chances are the lead will be changing again and in 24 hours we'll know who this year's real contenders are. Live coverage starts at 6:00 a.m.
