Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Welcome to the Dungeon

What was supposed to be a 3 day job is finally done 3+ weeks later. Through much frustration. The wife has wanted to finish part of our basement ever since we bought our house. She was talking to a friend about this before Christmas and he said a guy he works with could help him do it on the cheap. They came and looked at it and said it would just take a couple of days of hard work. If only it was that simple. It turned out to be a much more involved job than they expected. And then there was that phone call at my parents house informing us they'd driven a nail through our air conditioner line and drained all of our freon (which ate into their profits). And we learned that sometimes you get what you pay for. But finally it is done and we're basically happy with it. Maybe eventually we'll get a TV and cable down there, but for right now it is just a quiet reading and game room. I'm hoping to host some D&D sometime, too.

Thank you all for the complimentary comments. I was expecting complaints about the hideous orange. :-)

I'm saving those for later. ;)

Still, I'd be surprised if you went with a normal color. You two are too fond of colors designed to stimulate the under-five set. :D

You can always paint a more sedate color over it when you want to sell. While it's YOUR home, YOU get to do what you like!

Yes, with the colors in the rest of the house it really doesn't look out of place. I think anyone who would say different is just jealous, they want to use bold coloring but don't have the cajones!

So now where do the dogs get to go to hang out at when they've played in the snow? :P
