Rejected Summer Program Plan
Kansas is one of the states that is part of the Collaborative Summer Library Program. We all pool our people and financial weight to share ideas and resources, be able to afford professional artwork, and things like that for summer reading programs at libraries. Even though there's still snow, we just finished putting together our summer calendars. This year's theme is water; specifically, "Make a Splash: Read" for younger kids and "Make Waves" for teens. The theme changes each year, and it gives us a focus for programming, special presenters, and other happenings. I not only came up with an awesome idea to share, I even took the time to write the marketing blurb for the calendar. But I haven't been able to find anyone interested in actually implementing it:
Make a Splash at Your Library. Literally.
May 23 – August 7, Library Hours
The pool may be cool, but stupids never rule. This year spend your wet hours immersed in information and delighting in narration. Grab a water gun at the youth services desk before hitting the shelves to give your quest for books a whole new dimension. Just remember to stay alert for adversaries. Through age 18. Registration is not necessary.

Maybe hand sanitizer? It evaporates quickly.
