Through the Prism

After passing through the prism, each refraction contains some pure essence of the light, but only an incomplete part. We will always experience some aspect of reality, of the Truth, but only from our perspectives as they are colored by who and where we are. Others will know a different color and none will see the whole, complete light. These are my musings from my particular refraction.

Old and Out of Touch

I try to some extent to keep current with the latest technologies, but when it comes to mobile phones I am so 1990s. I just use mine to talk to people. I don't text. I've never taken a picture with the camera that's on my phone. I haven't downloaded any ringtones. I don't do online content, music, or videos. And I have no desire to do any of those things. I'm a luddite, out of touch fogey. So I probably won't get into this, but it's a cool idea.

I'm right there with you (but is that surprising? we're the same generation after all). When I go to buy a cell phone I'm looking for only two things: signal quality and battery life. I've used the camera on my phone, but only because it's there. And I've done some texting, but only because I'm surrounded by twenty-somethings and that's the way they communicate. But to me, a phone is a phone, and I can't really ever see myself surfing the web or reading comic books on it. If I'm going to read a comic book, it'll be on paper. I don't really enjoy reading anything longer than a blog post on a computer screen--even at full size.

Signal quality and battery life--exactly.

My phone doesn't have a camera or a color screen and I don't have text messaging. I refuse to get one that does. If people want to talk to me, they can call me or come to my house.
